Some examples of grizzle & tan colour Grizzle & tan is by far the most common colour in Border Terriers today and varies from very dark grizzle to light grizzle with varying degrees of tan colouring from very rich red to pale tan.

classed as a grizzle & tan
 Luther above, another darker grizzle but still called a grizzle & tan
Young puppies are often quite dark, yet grow up to be normal grizzle and tans. The dark puppies in the photo are aged 3 weeks and grew up to be the same colour as Sniffy.
