Some examples of blue & tan colour Rarer than the grizzle & tan they are getting more popular these days, but please do not refer to them as black & tan as this is incorrect. The legs, underside and head are mostly tan, with a blanket covering of black and white banded hairs which give the desired "Blue" colouring.
Blondie has a typical blue & tan coat
Trinket above at 6 months with evidence of "ticking" on her hindquarters and back.
Scruffy above recently stripped, a blue & tan in his undercoat can look very black. It is worth noting that as puppies blue & tan's can be very black and tan, as the blue "ticking" tends to come when they get their adult coat. Also a blue & tan that has had it's top coat stripped can look very black in it's undercoat as shown in the photo of "Scruffy" above.
